Fluorescent imaging in anthracene derivatives-containing films |

The object of this study is to develop a technique of photoimaging using anthracene derivatives and their strong fluorescence. It is widely known that anthracene derivatives convert to corresponding dimers by UV irradiation above 300 nm and the resulting dimers revert to corresponding monomers by UV irradiation below 300 nm. There are significant differences of fluorescent properties between their monomers and dimers. Consequently it was expected that their differences of fluorescence are applicable to fluorescence imaging. Fluorescence imaging using anthracene derivatives have advantages : only a small amount of them are needed for the imaging because they have strong fluorescent properties and versatile image patterns can be achieved depending on functional groups. The fluorescent properties of anthracene derivatives were investigated by UV and PL. The patterned images were successfully obtained and evaluated by fluorescence microscope. |
