Three-dimensional(3D) bioprinting technique has developed as an important tool for tissue and organ regeneration, with possibilities to construct complex biological structures. Hyaluronate is one of promising biomaterials for 3D bioprinting owing to is excellent biocompatibility. Partially oxidized hyaluronate(OHA) was prepared to form hydrogels in the presence of glycol chitosan(GC) via Schiff base formation. Interestingly, autonomous healing of OHA/GC hydrogels can be achived by simply adding adipic acid dihydrazide(ADH). OHA/GC/ADH hydrogels showed autonomous healing behavior within a short time period. Changes in the concentration and molecular weight of polymer were critical for controlling the mechanical porperties and 3-D printability of hydrogels, which showed great potential as bioink in cartilage regeneration. These self-healing hydrogels composed of naturally-occuring polysaccharides may find useful applications in 3D printing of complex tissues. |
