Development of Depth Filtration Filter Media |

Filter media for depth filtration are designed to hold a certain amount of dust separated from the gas stream passing through it and holding without excessive contribution to the increase of pressure drop. During this study panel filter media as well as the filter modules made of pleated shape were used. The pleated media is made based on the reference material used for commercial filter cartridge for gas turbine air intake filter application. Multilayer filter media consist of an upstream layer of highly porous structure which allows particles to pass through and following one or more downstream layers to hold the particles inside the media. The interest ist here to analyse the permeability as well as the initial parameters for pressure drop and particle retention and the tendency of pressure drop increase with loading of media with test dust particles. So far the first two test filter media samples with two and three layer respectively are in the center of the research. Filter media structure is designed so that it can have low pressure drop and high particle collection efficiency. |
