Chitin is a natural polysaccharide by N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units β(1-4) linked. In the present work a chitosan with DA 56% and Mv 80.000 g/mol will be employed. By contrast, starch, one of the natural polymers obtained from agricultural crops, is produced at a relatively low price. An attempt was made to prepare natural biodegradable material system. corn starch was chlorinated using MsCl in DMF at low temperature and then substituted with (N-2,3-dihydroxypropyl)β-chitosan derivative in various aprotic polar solvent containing a catalyst(LiCl2) to improve water resistance. that is Cl starch-co-(N-2,3-dihydroxypropyl)β-chitosan derivatives were introduced into starch at C6-OH, or N-3-hydroy propyl functional group position chitosan give a fully substituted derivative. Several techniques to obtain a have been proposed due to the interesting biological and chemical properties of such as wound healing. All derivatives were characterized by several spectroscopic techniques. |
