In this work, the effects of fluorination of silicas on the mechanical properties and thermal stabilities of the rubber composites were investigated. The surface properties of the silicas were studied in XPS. And, their mechanical interfacial properties and thermal stabilities of the composites were characterized by GⅢC and TGA, respectively. As a result, it was found that the introduction rate of fluorine contaning functional group onto the silicas surfaces were increased by increasing the fluorination temperature, resulting in improving the GⅢC. Also the thermal stabilities of the composites were increased by increasing the temperature. These results could be explained that the polar rubber showed relatively a high degree of interaction with fluorine functional groups of the silicas surfaces in a composites. |
