제목 Photocurable organic-inorganic hybrid coatings containing surface modified silica and their uses in corrosion protection of iron
초록 Organic-inorganic hybrid coatings having both anti-corrosion and wear resistance were prepared by photo-curing process. Coating formulations contained acrylate monomers, modified silica, acrylic acid, and photo-initiator. We synthesized acrylate monomers which have functional groups to provide corrosion protection and modified silica with 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH-570) to improve the dispersion properties in coating formulation. Various coatings were prepared depending on the type of monomer and amount of each ingredient, and coated on iron squares followed by photo-curing. The corrosion protection properties were studied by both salt spray test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and the coatings containing acrylate monomer with anti-corrosion functional group provided much better corrosion protection on iron with 4-5H pencil hardness.
