제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of Colorless Polyimide for Plastic Display Substrate |
초록 | Polyimides are well known as high-performance polymers which possess excellent thermal stability, inert behavior against organic solvents, and good mechanical properties. But, they are yellow or brown color. This coloration is deemed unacceptable in application such as plastic display substrate. In this study, polyimides were synthesized by using dianhydrides such as 6FDA, ODPA and isomeric diamines such as 3-SDA, 4-SDA, TPE-p, TPE-q, TPE-r with phenoxy or thiophenyl group in order to overcome shortcoming. These bulky electron withdrawing groups and overall π electrons conjugation seperators eliminate electronic inter, intra-chain interactions and conjugations which cause color in polyimide. Polymerization of ODPA, 6FDA with various diamines was carried out in NMP, DMAc. Then colorless polyimide films were imidized through thermal imidization and showed over 80% transmittance with 100㎛ thickness at 440nm UV region. Their Yellow Index, solubility and thermal properties were characterized by color meter, DSC, TGA. |
