Side-Chain Alkylation of Toluene with Methanol over Basic Hierarchical Zeolite with CO2 as an Enhancer |
초록 |
By Far economic manufacture of styrene remains a challenge because the current industrial process suffers from drawbacks such as multi step, high energy consumption and environmental impact. Thus a more efficient process with cheap reactants like toluene and methanol is highly desirable. However, the challenges in one-step styrene production are a) side-chain alkylation vs. ring alkylation, b) selectivity on styrene vs. ethylbenzene, and c) methanol dehydrogenation vs. dehydration and so on. To achieve these challenges, basic zeolites with hierarchical pore structured was synthesized and investigated for one-step styrene production by using CO2 as an enhancer for the dehydrogenation of methanol to formaldehyde intermediate and to get higher yields and promote the selectivity on ethylbenzene / styrene by scavenging hydrogen during the reaction |
