The palm tree produces palm fruits that are contained in a fruit bunch. When the fruits are extracted from the bunch, the residual material is called “empty fruit bunch” (EFB). This material is lignocellulosic and could be potentially used as feedstock for biofuel production.EFB to bio-fuels is being considered for national energy security and environmental advantages.
