Nanofiber-Entrapped Microhydrogels |

Recently, self-healing polymers and polymer composites have attracted increasing research interests. We developed a simple approach to prepare self-healing microgels of modified hyaluronic acid with and without PLA-SPION fibers for self-repairing and magnetic responsive drug delivery. The composite structures were prepared by a combination of electrospinning and spraying. The physically sprayed microparticles were ionically crosslinked with aqueous ferric ions, which enabled the self-healing behavior. PLA-SPION entrapped microhydrogels were magnetically responsible because of the presence of PLA-SPION inside the microhydrogels. PLA-SPION entrapped microhydrogels showed a fast attachment in the presence of external magnetic force. Even after 10 min bath sonication the attached microhydrogels were not detached or dispersed. It concludes that the self-healing composites structure was successfully developed from polyphenol-conjugated hyaluronic acid |
