Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) is interesting to safety problem of energy storages, for example, the leakage of liquid electrolyte generally occurred in the rechargeable battery system. Here we demonstrate GPEs, composed of trimethylolpropane ethoxylate triacrylate (ETPTA), poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMA), and lithium salt solution. These materials are polymerized by UV-light. Mechanical properties and ionic conductivity can be easily adjusted by changing the composition of ETPTA, PEGMA and lithium salt solution in GPEs. GPEs, which have high ionic conductivity (~10-3 S/cm), are injected into the electrode to improve the interfacial properties of the electrode and the electrolyte. With the properties of good mechanical strength and relatively small ionic conductivity (~10-4 S/cm), GPEs are used as a flexible film sandwiched by electrodes, serving as electrolyte and separators in energy storages. |
