제목 Synthesis of Carbon Doped ZnO Nanostructures and Their Visible Light Photocatalytic Activity
초록 Zinc oxide (ZnO) is one of the most advanced semiconductor materials useful for wide range of applications. The intentional and controlled incorporation carbon impurities into the ZnO lattice can be a typical strategy to alter the bandgap energy, thereby enabling it as visible light active catalyst. Here, we employ a new method to prepare carbon doped ZnO, where poly(styrene-block-2-vinylpyridine) was used as template to induce ZnO nanostrings and carbon source as well. Reconstruction of the morphology via solvent annealing, incorporation of ZnO by sol-gel process, and direct carbonization were employed to attain the target hybrid-nanostructure. An absorption band obtained in the visible region is considered as a fingerprint of intra-bandgap. The visible light activity of carbon doped ZnO nanostructure was demonstrated by the degradation of p-nitrophenol.
