We introduce a facile method to synthesize nobel metal hybrid structures on electrospun poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL) nanofibers coated with polydopamine (pD). Through oxdative polymerization, a pD layer is coated on the surface of the PCL nanofibers. The generated pD layer, which has a catechol moiety, can reduce gold precursor ions to solid gold nanostructures, generating a high surpace-to-volume ratio of the noble metal-polymer hybrid nanostructures. Theses noble metal-polymer hybrid nanostuructures can be recycled for catalytic activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. * This work was supported under the framework of international cooperation program managed by NRF of Korea (2012K2A1A2033167). |
