제목 | Preparation and Gas Separation Property of Cross-linked Sulfonated Polyimide Membrane for Fuel Cell Application |
초록 | Proton exchange membrane (PEM) for PEMFC should be needed to fulfill critical requirements such as excellent hydrolytic stability under acidic condition, high mechanical strength (> 20 MPa in the dry state), low dimensional stability (< 5 %), thermal stability, and low contact resistance between catalyzed gas diffusion layer (GDL) and PEM in membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA). PEM should be highly permeable to positive ions (> 10-1 S/cm in aqueous solution) such as proton and hydronium ion, and also be an effective barrier to fuel molecules such as hydrogen and oxygen. Sulfonated polyimide (SPI) as a potential PEM has a lot of merits such as its easy fabrication, high proton conductivity, excellent thermal, chemical and mechanical stability. In this present study, two different kinds of cross-linked SPI membranes were prepared by the introduction of aliphatic crosslinkers with or without an additional negatively charged fixed ion group. The O2, N2, and H2 gas permeabilities and O2/N2, O2/H2 selectivities of the SPI membranes as a barrier were investigated in order to observe the structure-property relationship including cross-linking effect. |
