제목 Development of Perfluorinated Composite Membranes with Oxidative Stabilizers for Highly Durable PEMFCs
초록 Chemical degradation of perfluorinated sulfonic acid membranes (PFSA) remains a significant issue for highly durable proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). In this work, we prepared perfluorinated composite membranes by adding appropriate oxidative stabilizers. Pre-screening of candidates for oxidative stabilizers was conducted using rhodamine B technique as a hydroxyl radical indicator. Two different types of oxidative stabilizers showed superior performances and those were added to composite membranes. The addition of stabilizers mitigated oxidative degradation of the composite membranes. Fenton’s test was used as a test protocol, followed by solid-state 19F NMR and FT-IR analysis. As a result, oxidative stabilizers increased stability of composite membranes without sacrificing ionic conductivity. These developed stabilizers would be promisingly used to prepare highly durable membranes.
