Periodic mesoporous organocilica(PMO) materials were synthesized from bisalkoxysilyl precursors (R’O)3Si-R-Si(OR’)3 and triblock copolymer or surfactant as a template. However, they exhibit poorly ordered mesostructures due to the strong acid synthesis pathway. An inorganic salt-assisted approach has been proposed to synthesize well-ordered PMO. In this work, we synthesized highly ordered PMO with the aid of inorganic salts(NaCl, K2SO4) under strongly acidic conditions using the triblock copolymer P123 and F127 as the template and a variety of precursors; Bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)prolyl] amine, 1,4-Bis(triethoxysilyl)benzene, 4,4’-Bis(triethoxysilyl)biphenyl. These precursors were used to synthesize PMO with various organic moieties. These materials have been characterized by means of small angle X-ray scattering(SAXS), Wide angle X-ray Diffraction(WAXS), N2 sorption, and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). |
