제목 Preparation of Hydrophilic Semi-IPN Microcapsules and Its Application to Microorganism
초록 The microcapsule is one of the most useful devices to release active ingredient in more effective, longer, and safer manner. In this study, microcapsules were synthesized by emulsion-interfacial reaction. Hydrophilic polymers, PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) and PNIPAAm (poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)), were employed as the wall material of microcapsules. Semi-IPN microcapsules were prepared with the mixed solution of PVA and NIPAAm. Semi-IPN structure kept not only a mechanical strength, but also possibility to show stimuli-response. To confirm the synthesis of semi-IPN structure, FT-IR and DSC analysis were carried out. Morphology and particle size were studied by optical microscopy and SEM. Microorganism was successfully encapsulated in these thermally-reponsive PVA /PNIPAAm semi-IPN microcapsules. The encapsulated microorganism showed both the improved retention stability and the reversible activity upon temperature variation.
