The microcapsule is one of the most useful devices to release active ingredient in more effective, longer, and safer manner. In this study, microcapsules were synthesized by emulsion-interfacial reaction. Hydrophilic polymers, PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) and PNIPAAm (poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)), were employed as the wall material of microcapsules. Semi-IPN microcapsules were prepared with the mixed solution of PVA and NIPAAm. Semi-IPN structure kept not only a mechanical strength, but also possibility to show stimuli-response. The encapsulated microorganism showed both the improved retention stability and the reversible activity upon temperature variation. |
