The microcapsule is one of the most useful devices to release active ingredient in more effective, longer, and safer manner. In this study, microcapsules were synthesized by emulsion-interfacial reaction. Hydrophilic polymers, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), were employed as the wall material of microcapsules. Semi-IPN structure kept not only a mechanical strength, but also possibility to show stimuli-response. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) proved the presence of the hydrogen bond in the Semi-IPN. Morphology and particle size were studied by optical microscopy and SEM. |
