제목 Synthesis of SiO2@Fe3O4 particles for Improvement of Anti-sedimentation Property of Magnetorheological Fluids
초록 One of the major problems of magnetorheological fluids (MR fluids) is anti-sedimentation property. Because the density of magnetic particle is much larger than the density of the carrier liquid, sedimentation of magnetic particle occurs, and this phenomena can degrade the performance of MR fluids. In this research, to lower the density of magnetic particles, we synthesized SiO2@Fe3O4 using silica microspheres as template. By examining morphology and structure, we concluded that synthesized particles have mesoporous shell structure. Magnetorheological behavior of the MR fluids was measured by a rotational rheometer at different magnetic field strengths. The anti-sedimentation property of the MR fluids was observed by measuring the density of the synthesized particles.
