Synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid double layered hollow capsule |

In this study, we prepared organic-inorganic hybrid capsules with polymer-SiO2 double layered shell. Capsules consisted of aliphatic hydrocarbon and inorganic precursor as a core material, melamine-formaldehyde as an organic shell material. The shell layers of SiO2 were formed on the inner surface of the polymer shell by hydrolysis of inorganic precursor included in core material. And hollow capsules with SiO2 inner shell were prepared by eliminating of the hydrocarbon core material. It is found that core material in double layered shell can be exchanged with organic chemicals. Shape of the synthesized capsules was observed by SEM and TEM. The double layered structure was investigated by TEM-EDS and TGA. The content of hydrocarbon core materials and species of core material was determined by DSC. |
