제목 Electroactive Polymer Actuators Using Ionic Polymer Metal Composites (IPMCs) Combined with Conductive Polymer
초록 IPMC is very effective material which show large bending strain in the presence of low applied voltage. It consists of ion-exchange membrane sandwiched between two thin platinum plates. To overcome the limitation of commercial ion-exchange membranes, new membranes were prepared by radiation-grafting on fluoropolymers. IPMCs using these membranes showed large strain and fast response in comparison with Nafion-based IPMC. And the generating force was improved by increasing membrane thickness. Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) layers were formed on two membrane surfaces by electorchemical polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene. After platinum layers were deposited on PEDOT layers, the actuation properties were enhanced by combining IPMC with conductive polymer.
