Our group has been investigating emerging ionic liquid (IL)-based green nanotechnology for reducing the risk of conventional technology to human health and environment as well as for sustainable development. First, I will introduce an ultrafast, mild, and continuous synthesis of unaccommodating inorganic nanomaterials through a droplet and IL assisted microfluidic (DIM) system that takes only tens of minutes rather than days that are usually needed to synthesize. Various inorganic materials were synthesized in only “20 minutes” of reaction time with simple instrument. Second, I will introduce IL-functionalized crystalline molybdenum oxide nanohybrid and its application in energy storage. The hierarchical structure and surface chemistry of hybrid material was crucial for improving the specific capacitance, rate capability and cycle stability for high performance energy storage devices. |
