Supercritical fluid has similarity in density to liquid, and in viscosity to vapor. In addition, supercritical fluid has the diffusion power getting more enormous by changing pressure and temperatures. Therefore, many researchers have been studying those kinds of properties or phenomena. In this study, we presented the phase behavior curves for Poly(n-octyl acrylate) and Poly(n-octyl methacrylate) according to the effect of monomers. Cloud-point data are obtained at the temperature range of 50 to 181℃ and pressures up to 2,622 bar with n-octyl acrylate concentrations of 0.0, 10.9, 19.9, 23.6, and 36.0wt%. And the LLV phase is observed in Poly(n-octyl acrylate) - CO2 mixture with 36.0wt% n-octyl acrylate. The cloud-point data for Poly(n-octyl methacrylate) are presented in the temperature range of 50 to 220℃ and pressures up to 2,664 bar with n-octyl methacrylate concentrations of 0.0, 5.6, 13.7, and 31.0wt, and the LLV phase is shown in the mixtures of poly(n-octyl methacrylate) - CO2 - 42.4wt% n-octyl methacrylate. Also, the comparison was made between the solubility curves for the Poly(n-octyl acrylate) with supercritical solvents such as CO2, DME, Propane, Propylene, 1-Butene and n-Butane. |
