Riboflavin 5’-monophosphate loaded chitosan oligosaccharide (COS) nanocapsules were produced by using modified ionic gelation process of tripolyphosphate (TPP). As a surfactant, TWEEN60 was applied to control the size of nanocapsules. Negatively charged drug, riboflavin 5’-monophosphate was successfully loaded in nanocapsules by ionic conjugation between the drug and cationic groups of COS. Size, morphology and surface charge of nanocapsules were investigated. In vitro drug release test was also carried out to demonstrate potential of riboflavin 5’-monophosphate loaded COS nanocapsules as a drug delivery carrier. |
