Polymeric nanostructured materials containing silver nanowires (AgNW) were prepared via physical intermolecular interactions. The AgNWs with various dimensions were prepared from a silver precursor in solution, and the successful immobilization of AgNWs onto the polymer nanostructures surface was successfully carried out by chemical reaction between the functional groups of the polymer surfaces and the silver precursor. Varying both the dimension of the polymer nanostructures and the amount of the silver precursor intercalated onto their surfaces led to the changes in the physical properties of the final composite materials of the polymer/AgNWs. The morphology and physical properties of the composite materials of polymer/AgNWs were investigated by using various characterization techniques, e.g. transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV–vis spectroscopy. |
