제목 | A Study on Mechanical Properties of Open Cell AZ31 Alloy Foam |
초록 | The AZ31 foam metals not only have characteristics of metal foams, and also have a new class of properties of novel physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and acoustic. Open cell foams are also good energy absorbers but they are usually used as heat exchangers, because they have a high coefficient of thermal conductivity, increased surface area ,and they can allow the passage of fluid flow through their pores. The weak is Mg is easy to burn.for this weak, In this paper, open cell foams are fabricated by investment casting method. Open cell AZ31 foams with tailored porous morphology were synthesized by investment casting method. Plaster and perlite powder was adequately mixed as ratio of 1:1. An aqueous solution containing Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) was binder with the proportion of 4% . Put the mold into the mould for corresponding size and compress them under the temperature of 700 ºC with the mixing gas of SF2 and CO2. This gas well solve the problem that magnesium is easy to burn. Microstructure was showed by SEM. The mechanical properties of metal foam was investigated by the compression test and the bending test, as well as studies used of a heat exchanger to evaluate the possibility that the thermal conductivity was measured. Thought testing, this method can be widely applied in the future Mg alloy foam production |
