제목 Nonisothermal Crystallization Behaviors of PE/MWNT Nanocomposites by In Situ Metallocene Polymerization
초록 We successfully polymerized polyethylene (PE) / multiwall carbon nanotube (MWNT) nanocomposites with various weight fractions using in situ metallocene polymerization. Thermal stabilities (onset temperature, degradation temperature) of PE/MWNT nanocomposites dramatically enhanced as the amount of MWNT is increased. As high as 50℃ increase of the degradation temperature was achieved for 12.4wt% PE/MWNT nanocomposite in N2 atmosphere. Thermal behavior and nonisothermal crystallization of polymerized nanocomposites were examined using Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). For nonisothermal studies, the melt was crystallized by cooling at rates from 1℃/min to 7℃/min. A kinetic analysis based on the proposed model for nonisothermal crystallization kinetics to remedy the drawback of the Ozawa equation was applied. We confirmed that introduction of MWNT into PE matrix obviously causes heterogeneous nucleation and creates the growth mechanism of 2-dimensional rod shape.
