Polyimides(PI) are one of the most valuable high performance polymers bacause of their excellent thermal properties as well as mechanical and electrical properties. However, PIs have a few limitation such as yellow color due to the strong charge-transfer between polyimide chains. Introduction of an amide moiety may reduce the charge-transfer between polymer chains. Furthermore, addition of bulky pendant groups is expected to enhance the transparency because of decrease in chain packing. In this study, we designed a series of polyamide and polyimides. The detailed synthesis and properties of the polymers are presented. |
