Base on polyester acrylate oligomer UV curable inks were prepared to repair pin hole defects in LCD color filter production. The pin hole defects in color filter are quite common during LCD production covering 1 - 2% quality non-confirming fails. The pin-holes sometimes refer to while-light specks when a LCD TFT is turn-on state. The formulated UV curable ink repairs those defects by filling a defective sub-pixel using inkjet printing process. Film properties such as curing time dependence, light transmittance characteristics, hardness were analyzed based on UV-cure time, UV-Vis spectroscopy and pencil hardness tester. Correlation between the formulation and inkjet printing behavior were also discussed by real-time ejection monitoring camera. |
