Enhancement of interfacial adhesion and suspension stability on oligolactide-grafted magnesium hydroxide/PLLA nanocomposites |
초록 |
Poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) is a biodegradable polymer and used in biomedical fields such as surgical sutures and vascular stents. Incorporation of magnesium hydroxide (MH) into PLLA can improve the mechanical properties and inflammation suppression by pH neutralizing effect during hydrolytic degradation. However, the MH easily aggregate and have a poor dispersion in the polymer matrix due to high surface energy. In order to enhance with PLLA, MH were modified using DL- or L-lactide by ring opening polymerization. FTIR, TGA, DLS, SEM, UTM, and pH measurements were performed to characterize the effect of surface modification. The PLLA/modified MH composites demonstrate not only the good mechanical performance but also the highest dispersion stability compared with unmodified MH. It is suggested that the modified MH can provide an effective means to develop optimized biomaterials. |
