This study presents the surface modified scaffold by using micro/nano fibers to promote neuronal growth and differentiation for nerve regeneration. In order to regenerate nerve cells, new treatment methods using a scaffold has been actively researched. In particular, it should be considered that the fabrication of an injection-type scaffold for nerve regeneration can enhance the regeneration of injured nerve cells according to mimicking the ECM structures around neurons./ In this study, a PLGA (poly(Lactide-co-Glycolide))-ppy (polypyrrol) based scaffold that can provide physical and electrical stimulation. For physical stimulation to be provided to neurons, electrospun-PVP (Polyvinylpyridone) fiber is used that provide a groove on the surface of the scaffold. To provide electrical cue, the fabricated scaffold is coated with ppy. It is expected that this scaffold can be applied to regenerate the nerve tissues naturally in the area of tissue engineering. |
