Rigid cross-linked PVC foams (c-PVC) exhibited a high performance, which are widely used as a core materials in sandwich structures for the applications where damage tolerance and weight saving are required, for example, wind energy, aerospace, transport, and industry applications. A key factor for preparing c-PVC foam with high performance is the formation of cross-linked network within PVC matrix under preconditions of good cellular structure. In this study, the c-PVC foam with semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) were prepared with diisocyanate, anhydride, chemical foaming agent and cross-linking agent by using single extruder. The effects of the chemical structure and molecular weight of diisocyanate on the cellular morphology and mechanical properties of the c-PVC form were investigated. |
