제목 Methotrexate loaded PLGA-Au Half-Shell Nanoparticles as a carrier for Photothermal Treatment and in Vivo Imaging of Rheumatoid Arthritis
초록 We have developed methotrexate-loaded poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-Au half-shell nanoparticles (MTX loaded PLGA-Au H-S NPs). These nanoparticles provide multifunctions, such as photothermal treatment, photothermally controlled drug delilvery, and in vivo optical imaging, since they exhibit an absorption peak in the near-infrared (NIR) range due to Au half shells. We explored the use of MTX-loaded PEG-PLGA-Au H-S NPs in a collagen-induced arthritis mouse. The in vivo NIR images showed that the nanoparticles were effectively delivered to the rheumatoid arthritis. In addition, the arthritis severity was found to be significantly reduced as compared with free MTX solution.
