Reactive oxygen species (ROS), including peroxides, hydroxyl radicals and singlet oxygen, are mainly produced by photocatalysts. The photocatalyst absorbs ultraviolet light to generation an electron hole pair on the surface, and the electron hole pair react with water molecules to form ROS. ROS is used to remove pollutant by disinfection and antibacterial action or to induce cancer cell death in cancer treatment, but it is limited to use for various purposes because it irradiates ultraviolet light. Recently, ROS generation using various structures of photosensitizers and conjugated polymers was studied. In this paper, we confirmed the efficiency of ROS generation by controlling the absorption of visible light of conjugated polymer. When the conjugated polymer was irradiated under visible light, it was confirmed that ROS was generated and that the efficiency of ROS generation was different depending on the backbone of the conjugated polymer. |
