제목 Effects of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer on thermodynamic properties and transport phenomena
초록 In the aspects of lithium diffusion, there are three mediums for lithium ions to transport through; electrolyte, active materials and solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Although, many analysis have been done about transport of lithium ion in the electrolyte and active materials, researches on SEI layer are still insufficient compared to the other transport mediums. This is due to difficulty to analyze lithium ion diffusion through SEI layer. However, SEI layer could determine stability and rate properties of lithium-ion batteries, and it also exerts influence on charge/discharge profile. Therefore, to understanding effects of SEI layer on cell performance is very important not only in academic area but also in real applications. In this research, we make SEI layer as an only dependent variable in the system and analyze its influence on cell performance, especially open-circuit voltage for thermodynamic properties.
