제목 Synthesis of poly(2-(2-(4-vinylphenyl)ethynyl)pyridine) by living anionic polymerization
초록 The monomer, 2-(2-(4-vinylphenyl)ethynyl)pyridine (VPEPy), synthesized by sonogashira coupling reaction was anionically polymerized. Anionic polymerization of VPEPy was successful by using only (diphenylmethyl)potassium (DPM-K) without side reaction during course of polymerization. The resulting polymers all possessed the predictable molecular weights and the narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/ Mn = 1.06 1.09). Yields of polymers were always quantitative. The polymers were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR. The molecular weights and molecular weight distributions of the synthesized polymers were determined by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The block copolymers of VPEPy with styrene and 2-vinylpyridine (2VP) were synthesized quantitatively by sequential anionic polymerization to estimate the reactivity of VPEPy and to find its living nature. The resulting block copolymers of poly(VPEPy)-b-poly(2VP) showed micro-phase separation in THF as observed from TEM.
