Silver (Ag) nanoplates have been studied for their interesting optical, chemical and electrical properties. In the present study, Ag nanoplates were synthesized using one-pot synthesis method with coordinating ligands and thy exhibited fascinating plasmonic properties due to the morphological evolution by etchants in the entire visible region. At first, we will show that the intrinsic instability of Ag nanoplates can be used as the basis for a novel sensing platform for the quantification of water in water-alcohol mixtures. Then, we would like to present stain sensors based on nanocomposites of Ag nanoplates and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The strain sensors exhibited high sensitivity, high stretchability with linear responses, and high reliability, all of which allowed the sensor to monitor diverse human motions, including joint movement and phonation. |
