The realization of efficient optoelectronic devices based on well-defined nanomaterials has been one of major approaches to overcome ever growing energy demands. In order to achieve these missions, noble synthesis of functional materials such as semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs), understanding the interfacial issues for hybridization, and structural design of optoelectronic devices taking advantage of the full potentials of such nanomaterials are all important and the research in these directions is actively pursued in recent years. In this presentation, a comprehensive scheme on the preparation of high-quality semiconductor NCs, the understanding of interfacial issues in hybrid materials, and the fabrication of highly-efficient optoelectronic devices will be discussed. The hybridization of well-defined semiconductor tetrapods with p-type conducting polymers will also be briefly discussed for the potential use in hybrid solar cells. |
