제목 Enhanced Cycling Performance of LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 Cathode by Interfacial Stabilization Using Functional Additive
초록 Multi-components cathode active materials of Li(Ni1-x-yCoxMny)O2 are one of the promising cathode active materials for high-energy density Li-ion batteries, and their capacity can increase by increasing the Ni content and the charge cut-off voltage (> 4.2 V). However, their high-voltage performance is limited because of anodic instability of conventional electrolyte and structural degradation of cathode material at high-voltages. Interfacial stabilization using a small fraction of functional electrolyte additive as a high-voltage stabilizer is a promising approach to improve high-voltage stability of Ni-rich cathode (e.g., NCM523). Surface analysis results of high-voltage surface film formation and their relation to cycling performance would be discussed.
