pH-sensitive, Hydroxypropylmethacrylate(HPMA)-based Hydrogels:Controlling of swelling/deswelling and drug release behaviors |

A pH-responsive hydrogels as well as HPMA(2-Hydroxypropyl methacrylate)and DMA(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) is essenstial for controlled drug release. HPMA-based hydrogels are one of the most widely used. The goal in this study is to manipulate the swelling/deswelling and drug release behaviors of HPMA-based hydrogels by controlling the physical and chemical properties of the copolymer network. And,the other goal in this study is to show the swelling/deswelling and transparency by changing backbone , sidechain and crosslinker. Different hydrogels were prepared by free radical copolymerization of HPMA and DMA(N,N-dimethylethylaminoetyacrylate). Swelling characteristics and drug release profiles were investigated as a function of pH values. |
