We have investigated the effects of glycerol-doped PEDOT:PSS as a hole conducting layer material on the performance characteristics of pentacene-based PIN photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic cells based on PIN heterojunction have been fabricated with a structure of ITO / poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS) / pentacene / pentacene:C60 / C60 / BCP / Al. Hole conducting layer was formed by spin coating process and annealed at different temperatures. The maximum power conversion efficiency of 3.89% has been achieved from the devices using glycerol-doped PEDOT:PSS as a hole conducting layer. The device performance characteristics are discussed based on the measurements such as transmission, work function, surface morphology, sheet resistance, and photovoltaic responses including open circuit-voltage(Voc), short-circuit-current(Jsc), and fill factor(FF). |
