Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were directly oxyfluorinated at different conditions. Oxyfluorinated MWCNTs were impregnated with Co(NO3)2ㆍ6H2O and Ni(NO3)2 H2O solution. The changes of chemical and physical properties were investigated using BET surface area analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A direct oxyfluorination of MWCNTs has been conducted to obtain a series of oxyfluorinated multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The strong oxyfluorination on the MWCNTs leads breaking the bond of carbon-carbon, which makes carbon-flourine bonding. |
