PAN-based carbon nanofibers (CNFs) were prepared by electrospinning. Electrospun fibers were immersed in various molar KOH solutions to make porous materials, and activated with KOH during carbonization. The structural change of CNFs through KOH activation was investigated by using SEM, TEM and XRD. The BET specific surface area and pore distribution of CNFs were studied by using BET apparatus. Although there were micro pores of CNFs, most pores in CNFs were meso pores. KOH activation was found to be effective to develop and uniform particular pore size on the CNFs surface, increasing the surface area of CNFs. |
