제목 Synthesis of Sulfonated Poly(arylene ether ketone) Copolymers for Polymer Electrolyte Membranes
초록 As a novel class of polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) materials for application in fuel cells, poly(arylene ether ketone)s were prepared by polycondensation via nucleophilic substitution reaction. Sulfonated PAEK-As (SPAEK-As) with different sulfonation content values were successfully synthesized via chlorosulfonic acid as a sulfonating agent. It was discovered that only one sulfonic acid group can be introduced per each repeating unit of the polymers without degradation. The thermal stabilities of the SPAEK-As were characterized by DSC and TGA. IEC increased with sulfonation content, the IEC values were in the ranges of 0.3-1.9 meq•g-1. The proton conductivities of copolymer films increased with increasing IEC and temperature. The oxidative stability was tested by using Fenton’s reagent (3 % H2O2 aqueous solution containing 2 ppm FeSO4) at 80 oC. Fenton’s reagent test showed that the SPAEK-As films had good stability under oxidative condition.
