Preparation and properties of XPEG/PVDF-HFP electrolyte IPNs for secondary lithium battery |

XPEG/PVDF-HFP electrolyte systems for secondary lithium polymer battery were prepared by crosslinking PEGs with TEOS by sol-gel reaction in the presence of PVDF-HFP. Crosslinking of PEG in PVDF-HFP was confirmed using FT-Raman spectroscopy, observing the reduction of –OH peak intensity. Mechanical strength (tensile strength) increased, but swelling ratio in electrolyte liquid deceased with increasing PVDF-HFP contents. Ion conductivities of PVDF-HFP electrolyte films increased with increasing XPEG concentration due to its high ion transporting ability associated with high liquid electrolyte affinity. Ion conductivities linearly increased with increasing temperature in logarithmic scale. The prepared PVDF-HFP polymer electrolyte composites were electrochemically stable up to about 5 V. |
