In this work, porous carbons were prepared by a chemical activation method from ion-exchangeable resin with different impregnation ratio of KOH, and the adsorption characteristics of the porous carbons were investigated. The acid and base values were determined by the Boehm's titration method and the textural properties were studied by BET, D-R, and BJH methods with N2/77K adsorption isotherms. Also the adsorption properties of the porous carbons prepared were investigated with CO2 and NH3 adsorptions. From the results, it was found that significantly different CO2 and NH3 adsorption isotherms of the porous carbons were observed among the samples which have similar textural properties (i.e., specific surface area, pore size, and pore volume). |
