Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attractive features of high energy conversion efficiency and low production cost. Recently, the performance of DSSCs based on organic dyes has been remarkably improved. In this study, we have synthesized a highly efficient organic dye which contains π-conjugated oligo-phenylenevinylene unit and the electron donor-acceptor moiety. The dye exhibited 9.1 % overall solar-to-energy conversion efficiency at AM 1.5 illumination (100 mW/cm2): short-circuit current density (Jsc), 18.1 mA/cm2; open-circuit photovoltage (Voc), 743 mV; fill factor (ff), 0.675. |
