Characteristics of heterojunction silicon solar cells with textured structure |

Simple structure TCO/a-Si(n)/c-Si(p) heterojunction solar cells were investigated by current-voltage characteristics (I-V), external quantum efficiency(EQE), and Auger spectroscopy(AES). Amorphous silicon layer was deposited about 10nm on silicon wafer. TCO layer was deposited about 80nm. Random pyramid texturing was performed with KOH and isopropyl alcohol. Comparing with flat and textured cells, flat cells showed higher open circuit voltage(Voc), lower short circuit current(Isc), and higher fill factor(FF). Lowering Voc in textured cells was attributed to damaging textured tips. Converstion efficiency of flat and textured cells represented 11% and 11.2%, respectively. |
