Shape Transformation of Star Branched Polystyrene from Solution SAXS Analysis |

To determined the shape of star branched polystyrene with changes of number of arms on good and theta solution, solution small angle scattering experiment (SAXS) was performed with aid of synchrotron source at Pohang light source. From the SAXS data. radius of gyration (Rg), cross-sectional radius of gyration (Rq), persistence length, and g-factor of Zimm-stockmayer were calculated. By applying the indirect Fourier Transform (IFT), the shape of star branched polystyrene was observed in detail. According to the fit result, star-like shape transformed to hard sphere-like shape with increase of number of arm. The results are in detail discussed with considering solvent effect. |
